Pneumonia is a common lung infection that affects the alveoli in your lungs. It occurs when these air sacs fill with fluid or pus, making it hard to take in oxygen. Several types of bacteria, germs and fungi can result in pneumonia. Symptoms often present as a persistent cough, fever, feeling cold, difficulty breathing and chest aching. Diagnosis
